Budget Cut for Jefferson County Drug Investigators

The budget cuts mean fewer investigators for what seemed to be record number of cases.

The Jefferson County drug task force was expected to investigate 400 methamphetimine labs this year, says the stltoday.com news website.

But their budget will be cut by about $160,000 this year, the news site reports. Which means about a third fewer investigators to pursue exisiting cases and crime tips.

The task force was originally expected to have 15 investigtors when it started more than a decade ago. This year it will have about seven or eight investigators pursuing 10-20 tips daily.

maybe if they spent less time on goofy traffic tickets to generate revenue and more time dedicated to combatting the illegal drug industry they could afford to move some of their deputy dawgs on the traffic beat to something really important like ...the drug traffice...ask any lawyer who deals in tickets....jefferson county has a real racket going on....

besides...if obama gets a 2nd term...his goal is to decriminalize drugs...that includes meth and marjiuana and reduce the crime for cocaine......but of course that will be taxable to the governement...another revenue generator to reduce the deficit
