Carnival Rides Scheduled for Arnold July 4 Celebration

A total of nine children's rides will be at Arnold City Park for the July 4 event.

The City of Arnold will have carnival rides on July 3-4, for the first time, for next week's Independence Day Celebration in .

“This has never been done before. The city of arnold has never had rides for children before. This will be a good test run to see if this is something that our community will support. The proceeds from this vendor will go back to the tourism commission. It’s a win win situation,” Parks Department Director Susie Boone said to ArnoldPatch.

Imperial-based Archway Amusements will provide a total of nine rides. One is a ferris wheel that was on Michael Jackson’s ranch, Boone said.

Some rides are meant for children's enjoyment, other rides are meant for teenagers and adults.

She said the city and the vendor have obtained the insurance and permits needed for the event.

The carnival will open July 3 from 4-10 p.m.

Although the added rides will cause a loss of 100 parking spaces, Boone said “There has always been and will be ample parking for our visitors."

On July 4, the celebration will being at 4 p.m. The “Dirty Boys” concert will start at 7 p.m. Fireworks are planned start between 9-9:15 p.m.
