City Mourns Death of Arnold Councilwoman

The entrance at city hall is draped in black ribbon, and flags at all city buildings are at half staff in remembrance of Christine "Cricky" Lang, who died Monday morning.

 

Arnold officials are mourning the death of City Councilwoman Christine "Cricky" Lang, who died Monday morning at her home.

In remembrance of the Ward 1 councilwoman, the entrance at city hall has been draped in a black bunting, and flags at all city buildings are at half staff.

City officials expressed their condolences in a news release on Monday. It stated, "The passing of Councilwoman Lang is a loss for the entire Arnold community."

Ward 1 Councilwoman Doris Borgelt, Ms. Lang's ward mate, said she was deeply saddened by the news. She said, "My heartfelt condolences to Shawn, Katlyn, Tyler and her mom, Pat. She will be greatly missed."

News of Ms. Lang's death resulted in an outpouring of sympathy and support for her family on Monday. Friends and former classmates said the 1987 Fox High School graduate was a wonderful mother and a very giving person.

Ms Lang was first elected to the council in 2010. She had served on the Park & Leisure Service Board and the Liquor Committee and was recently appointed to serve on the City Administrator Search Committee.

Ms. Lang moved to Arnold in 1977, according to her bio on the city's website. She married her husband Shawn in 1997. They have two children, Katlyn and Tyler, both of whom attend schools in the Fox School District.

Her family has not released any other information. Patch will provide updates as they become available.
