Arnold Mayoral Race Narrows After Ken Moss Drops

In other election-related news, 10 candidates have filed to run for five seats on Arnold City Council while seven candidates seek to fill two open seats on the Fox Board of Education.

The race to become Arnold's next mayor will only include two candidates.

As the filing period neared its closing at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Ward 4 Councilman Ken Moss—who had previously filed to run—dropped from the race. That leaves incumbent Ron Counts and Ward 1 Councilwoman Doris Borgelt as the remaining candidates for mayor.

Residents had until that deadline to file their candidacies for the April 2 local election, which will include races to fill mayor, four city council seats and two school board seats.

Moss's withdrawal from the race follows an October incident when Arnold Parks and Recreation Director Susie Boone went public with allegations of Moss harrassing her for more than two years after his sister was fired from the parks department. Moss has denied the allegations.

Calls to Moss on Tuesday evening were not immediately returned.
