First Arnold Farmers Market Seeks Vendors

The new Arnold farmers market, which will operate from May through October of next year, will have a growers meeting on Dec. 14.

Arnold’s new farmers market is closer than ever to becoming a reality. A farmers market committee was created in May of this year with the mission of creating a farmers market in Arnold that would “draw people from St. Louis and boost revenue and taxes for Arnold restaurants, stores and gas stations,” according to a previous Arnold Patch story.

With Fox Middle School already picked for the location of the market, one of the last items in the commission’s agenda is to find the growers and vendors that will offer their fresh produce there.

“Success requires you to get the local farmers on board and supporting the event,” said Debbie Campbell, director of the De Soto farmers market, in a previous Arnold Patch story.

For this, the Arnold Farmers Market commission will have a growers meeting at 7 p.m. on Dec. 14, in the lower conference room at Arnold City Hall. According to a press release, plans and information for prospective vendors will be provided. Representatives from the City of Arnold, University of Missouri Extension, and the Jefferson County Health Department will be on hand to answer questions.

Those interested in more information about the meeting can call Arnold’s Economic Developer Dan Bish at (636) 282-2378, or send an e-mail to arnoldfarmersmarket@gmail.com.

It sounds like a good idea, having a place to buy fresh vegies & fruit locally grown will be great for this county
