Additionally, portions of Pomme Creek Golf Course are closed, said Susie Boone, Arnold parks and recreation director. The course is still open, but there are only seven holes open.

"The two parks will probably be closed until next week depending on how much rain we get between now and then," Boone said.

Hollywood Beach Road, which runs along the Meramec, is also closed.

Flooding has also closed some South County area parks. Those closures include:

  • Lower Cliff Cave Trail (South County);
  • Lower Meramec (South County);
  • George Winter Park (Fenton);
  • Lower Buder Park (Fenton);
  • and Unger Park (Fenton).

Roads in neighboring South County are also experiencing problems with flooding, said David Wrone, a spokesman with the St. Louis County Traffic Department. On Monday Meramec Bottom Road had 5 feet of water and Old Telegraph and Hawkins had 7 feet.

"Those roads could be flooded for awhile, but water on other roadways may recede quicker," Wrone said. "It's not a surprise that any of these roads flooded because they typically do when the river rises."

Here's a list of specific roads that are closed due to flooding in South County:

  • Old Telegraph at Telegraph;
  • Hawkins Road at Meramec Bottom;
  • New Baumgartner and Heinz;
  • New Baumgartner in front of the Fred Weber Quarry;
  • Old Baumgartner from Whispering Ridge to Brookstone;
  • Wells from Suson Woods to Meramec Bottom;
  • Meramec Bottom from Kerth to Wells.

Patch will update the road and park closures on Tuesday.
