Food Fight: Where Do You Get the Best Veggies?

We heard from readers who suggested that we ask for something a little healthier than burgers and fries in the South County Food Fight. So we're giving it a try! Is there a place you recommend for great fresh vegetables?

Here at Food Fight Headquarters, we've had some pretty good success hearing from readers about less-healthy dining options such as burgers, pizza and doughnuts. But some readers asked us to query Patchland for ideas about healthier foods.

This week, in the spirit of healthier options, we're trying vegetables. Where are the best places to find great veggie dishes in South County? That's the challenge for this week's South County/Arnold Food Fight.

Each week, we're looking for your suggestions on the best restaurants, diners and cafes for pizza, barbecue, pasta and more. Please vote, nominate and spread the news about our friendly competition.

Please post a nomination in the comments below. You may submit comments until 5 p.m. Wednesday.

We'll take the top three or four nominees and post an article first thing Thursday morning. Then, you can vote in a poll to decide the Food Fight champion.

Vote till Friday at 5 p.m. On Saturday, we announce the winner.

So show your hometown pride and pick a place near you. Boast about that small family restaurant or other great eatery in your neighborhood.

And, if you are pulling for a certain restaurant, share this column on your personal Facebook page and Twitter feed and ask your followers to vote.

This column is all about you—your ideas, your feedback and your voice—so we hope you will chime in and check back.

So, without further ado, let's get the voting started. Patch readers, tell us by commenting below: Where is the BEST place to get a good veggie dish in South County?

They're closed for the winter, but my favorite veggies are batter dipped and deep fried from the Malt Shop in Fenton.

I love the selection at the River City Buffet hot and cold - and their salad dressings are made from scratch!
