Food Fight: Where's Your Favorite Place for Chinese Takeout?

OK, loyal Patch readers in South County and Arnold: We know the feeling when you can't face an hour in the kitchen and you need some food now. When that feeling comes, where do you turn for Chinese takeout?

We've all been there. It's time for dinner, the day went longer than you'd like and you just don't feel like cooking. Pizza won't cut it, so it's time to order Chinese takeout.

Have you got a favorite go-to place you recommend? In this week's edition of Food Fight, we want your nominations for the best places to order out Chinese food in South County or Arnold.

Here's how the Food Fight works:

  • Each week, we'll ask a question about your favorites.
  • We invite you to post your nominations in the comments below.
  • We hope you'll also spread the word about this every week to your friends on Facebook or Twitter and get them involved.
  • Submit comments until 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Then:

  • We'll take the top nominees and post an article first thing Thursday morning.
  • That article will include a poll highlighting the top nominees.
  • You vote till Friday at 5 p.m.
  • On Saturday, we announce the winner.

So where do you get your sesame chicken, lo mein or egg drop soup when you want a meal in hurry? Where's your favorite spot for Chinese takeout in South County or Arnold?

So show your hometown pride and pick a place near you. Boast about that small family restaurant or other great eatery in your neighborhood.

And, if you are pulling for a certain restaurant, share this column on your personal Facebook page and Twitter feed and ask your followers to vote.

This column is all about you—your ideas, your feedback and your voice—so we hope you will chime in and check back.

I LOVE Sesame's in Sunset Hills. Their Mongolian Beef is to die for--sweet and with mild green onions. Mmmmm, I know what I want for lunch now. They have a nice dining room, but they do take out as well.

Hunan Yu on Gravois. It's what I judge all other chinese food against.

J & I on Gravois in Fenton is the best hands down. Excellent food, reasonable prices, and very clean!

Panda at the corner of Baptist Church Road and Tesson Ferry has the best crab rangoon in the area. The rest of the food is just fine, but I won't fight for the whole menu here. The crab rangoon is simply ridiculous.

Sesame China in Sunset Hills is our favorite but if we don't want to drive that far then it's China Buffet on Lemay Ferry!

Sesame's is good, but kind of out of the Mehlville-Oakville area. Lemay Wok has excellent food.

China Garden, 8003 MacKenzie at the corner of Heege. This is primarily a takeout place (which is what this food fight is all about, right?), although they have tables if you want to eat on the premises.
