Former Meramec Heights Elementary School Principal Passes Away

Visitation for Raymond Hodge will be at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home on Thursday.

Raymond Hodge, the former principal of , died on Monday, April 9.

Visitation will be at , 1081 Jeffco Blvd., on Thursday, April 12, from 4-8 p.m., and at New Hope United Methodist Church,Β  3921 Jeffco Blvd., on Friday, April 13, from 10-11 a.m.

He will be buried at New Hope United Methodist Church on Friday at 11 a.m.

Hodge arrived as a teacher and head coach at C-6 School District during the early years of Fox High School, says the funeral home website.Β He was the principal of Meramec Heights Elementary School for 30 years.

He led fund raising drives to install the lights above the Fox High School football field and the first electric scoreboard on the field.

He ran the scoreboard and clock at all of the varsity football games.

Hodge was one of the people to construct the first press box at the Fox High School football field, build the original dugouts at the Fox High baseball field and put up the first fence around the baseball field.

Raymond & Nancy Hodge Elementary School in Imperial, MO is named after him and his late wife.
