Hohmeier Unofficial Ward 2 Winner

Paul Freese returns as Ward 3 Councilman.

The Arnold City Council will have a new face in the coming weeks.

Michelle Hohmeier garnered about 56 percent of the Ward 2 vote, or 208 ballots, over Jeff Fitter's 163 votes or 44 percent of the ward, says the Jefferson County election website.

Ward 3 Councilman Paul Freese won a close election against challenger Michael Evans by claiming 53.7 percent of the vote. Only 34 votes separated Freese from Evans. There was one write-in candidate in the Ward 3 election, said the County election website.

Incumbent councilmen Christine "Cricky" Lang of Ward 1 and Ken Moss of Ward, who were unchallenged recieved at least 92 percent of their wards respective votes.

Treasurer Dan Kroupa, who was also unchallenged, received nearly 99 percent of the vote.

Arnold City Council tradition is to allow outgoing councilmen to participate in one council meeting prior to admitting the new members into the council.

The next Arnold City Council meeting will be at City Hall, 2101 Jeffco Blvd., on April 5 at 7 p.m.
