A man was arrested after trying to hit an Imperial man with his car, according to a Jefferson County Sheriff's Department police report.

The incident occurred on Jan. 7. The suspect drove by his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend's house around 11:30 p.m. and saw her vehicle outside the home on Hickory Circle in Imperial, according to the report.

That's when the suspect moved his vehicle toward the victim, almost striking him. The suspect said he had to swerve to avoid the victim, but the victim said otherwise, according to the report.

The suspect was arrested, and police said they found a shaving bag containing acid, LSD, prescription pills and marijuana.

He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
