The post-season awards continue for area players as all-conference teams were announced for the boys in the Suburban West Conference and for the girls in the Suburban South Conference and the MWAA White Conference.
The Suburban West Conference was one of the state's top boys leagues in the area this year with final four team Marquette.
Oakville's Austin Gillmann and Mehlville's Adis Mujakic were each named to the second team.
The 6-foot-10 Gillmann had an outstanding sophomore season. He averaged 13.2 points a game while shooting 56.2 percent from the field. He averaged 9.9 rebounds a game and had 83 blocks (more than three a game).
Mujakic made his senior season a special one as he led the Panthers in scoring (13.5 a game) and rebounds (8.3 a game). He also led Mehlville in steals.
Three other area players were named to the third team: Lindbergh senior Joe Killian (10.1 points a game); Northwest senior Christian Lamborn (13.6 points a game); and Oakville sophomore Ervin Sarajilic (12.1 points a game).
Marquette senior Ryan Rosberg and Lafayette senior Joel Pennington were named Players of the Year in the league while Parkway South's Mitch Stevens was named Coach of the Year.
A pair of area players from the South Patch area were named to the first team.
Lindbergh's Blake Welch was named first team in the Suburban West Conference. The 5-foot-11 senior guard averaged 11.4 points per game for the Flyers. The sharp-shooter shot 49.5 percent from the field and converted 44 of his 112 3-point attempts (39.3 percent).
Cor Jesu senior Monica Simon was named first team in the ultra competitive MWAA White Conference. The 5-foot-8 guard was a solid all-around performer for the Chargers, averaging 11.3 points per game while also leading the team in steals.
Three of Simon's teammates were also recognized by the conference, which included final four team Incarnate Word and powerhouse St. Joseph's Academy. Senior center Audra Horn (nine points a game and leading rebounder) and junior guard Chaley Poth (led the team with an 11.9 point average) were named to the second team while senior forward Sam Bersett was an honorable mention selection.
Rockwood Summit and Seckman each had a player named to the second team in the Suburban South Conference.
Summit senior Kaitlyn Brame led her team in both scoring (12.8 points) and rebounding (6.7 a game). Seckman senior Abby Hayden was one of the league's top outside threats. Hayden averaged 12.2 points a game while making 38 3-pointers and shooting 80 percent (100-125) from the free throw line.
Seckman had three players named honorable mention: seniors Shelbey Stuckmeyer and Texas Crowe and junior Kori Farmer. Summit junior Jazmynn Kite was also an honorable mention pick.
Kirkwood had both the Player of the Year (Lianna Doty) and Coach of the Year (Brad Sutterer) in the conference.
Editor's Note: ArnoldPatch apologizes for the lack of photos of Abby Hayden, Shelbey Stuckmeyer and Kori Farmer. We hope the teenagers, and their families and friends, enjoy the rest of the school year and the upcoming summer vacation.
