Sonic Drive-in on Richardson Road Closed
Sonic fans now will have to drive out to Fenton in Gravois Bluffs to seek out their favorite foods and the restaurant's iconic carhop service.
If you were hoping to indulge in a curbside coney dog and a cherry Coke from the Sonic Drive-in in Arnold, you've missed your chance.
The Richardson Road location closed in late December. According to the company's website, the closest Sonic to Arnold is now in Fenton's Gravois Bluffs. The next closest Sonic is in Kirkwood.

I sure hope it didn't have anything to do with our local politicians, or city hall in general. My opinion is simple. We cannot afford to lose any businesses within the Arnold Area.
We need to try and help them stick it out.

Is that so? What about Two Men and a Spa Dolly? or the Rent to Own Auto Center, Blackwell Motors, Spruce Up Landscaping to name just a few of whom the city has been less than helpful in their efforts to locate here. We do have an over saturation of fast food restaurants, around 70, but who is counting? Is it surprising this one closed? Maybe our businesses would do a little better if they were patronized by City Hall, instead of them going out of town to hire contractors or service providers. That might be a good step toward providing a customer base to eat at those restaurants like the one we just lost!.
If we hire local companies to do work for the city, they may hire local residents to work in those businesses and expand the tax base....wouldn't that be wonderful?

With news of Doris and her alleged bullying of businesses why would you want to open a business in Arnold???? Sorry to see Sonic go but it could be a franchise who ran in to money issues or maybe someone just bought them out and something else could be going in there on the property. We will see in the future.
