Success of Watercolor Villas Leads to More Senior Apartments

Arapaho Development is seeking rezoning on a piece of property in order to build a sister community to Watercolor Villas.

Arnold seniors can look forward to another construction project just for them: Richardson Ridge Villas, a complex of affordable apartments for people over 55. The apartments will be developed by Patrick Werner of Arapaho Development, who recently opened Watercolor Villas.

Like Watercolor Villas, the two-bedroom apartments will energy efficient, use geothermal heating and cooling and have solar panels to keep utility bills low. They will come with appliances: dishwasher, range, refrigerator, microwave, washer and dryer. And most important, each apartment will be completely accessible for residents or visitors in wheelchairs.

Werner told Patch that the new complex will have 48 apartments and could be completed in around 10 months. Richardson Ridge Villas will also have a community building with a kitchen, meeting room and gym.

The apartments are designed for older residents who can live independently.

Mayor Ron Counts said at a recent council meeting that he was extremely pleased with the low-priced senior villas and hopes that Arapaho Development will consider building a third apartment complex for the growing population of seniors in Arnold.
