Dan E. Smith and Cheryl Hermann, both members on the Fox C-6 Board of Education, are seeking seats in other political offices.
Smith (R) is running against Jeff Roorda (D) for state representative in District 113, which covers portions of Wards 1 and 3 in Arnold and all of Ward 3.
Hermann (D) is facing off against Renee Reuter (R) for the District 2 seat on the Jefferson County Council.
Smith told Patch that if he wins the seat, he will continue to serve on the school board.
"I talked to the superintendent who reminded me I haven't missed one meeting in five years compared to other school board members, and she didn't see any problem with me holding both offices," he said.
He added that he spoke with representatives in Jefferson City who informed him that they would try to get him out of office early on days he has school board meetings, unless there was an urgent need.
Meanwhile, Hermann told Patch she would probably resign from her position on the school board if she wins the seat on the council.
Stay tuned to Patch for the results of these two elections, which should be coming shortly.
