Unexplained Death in Arnold Crime Report
Also an Imperial man face a charge of firearms possession while intoxicated. Only one shoplifting crime in the prior week.
The Arnold Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department provided the following information. None of it indicates a conviction or guilty plea.
Shoplifting— Kohl’s Department Store security, at 2150 Michigan Ave., detained an Imperial woman, 54, for stealing about $148 in merchandise at about 7:30 p.m. Arnold police charged the woman with stealing and released her on a citation.
Firearms Possession While Intoxicated— Arnold police, investigating a wreck near the intersection of Richardson Road and Robinson Drive at 8:46 p.m., charged an Imperial man, 40, with driving while influenced. Police also found a firearm in the man’s vehicle and charged with firearms possession while influenced. Arnold police booked the man and released him on pending arrest warrants.
Driving on a Revoked License—After a traffic stop at Arnold Crossroads Center at about 10:20 p.m., Arnold police charged an Arnold man, 58, with driving while influenced. Police learned the man’s driving license was revoked. The man refused to take a blood alcohol test. Police released him on pending arrest warrants.
Driving While Influenced—An Imperial man, 33, faces charges of driving while influenced after Arnold police investigated a wreck at Arnold Crossroads Center at about 11 p.m. The man refused to take a blood alcohol test. Police released the man to a sober driver.
No Business License—Arnold police said the owner of Bayshore Apartments, at 1247 Telegraph Road, is operating the company without a business license from the City of Arnold.
Violating a Protection Order—Arnold police arrested a St. Louis woman, 34, after investigating a conflict at Bayshore Parkway at about 11:45 p.m. After checking the law enforcement database, police learned the woman violated a court order banning her from contacting the victim living at the Bayshore Parkway residence. Arnold police booked the woman, and released her on pending arrest warrants.
Disturbing the Peace, Resisting Arrest— Arnold police charged an Imperial man, 23, with resisting arrest, intimidating an official and disturbing the peace at the Circle K gas station on Richardson Road at about 12:40 a.m. Police jailed the man until he was sober.
Stealing Deodorant—Arnold police arrested an Imperial woman, 38, after a Dollar General employee at 505 Jeffco Blvd., said the woman stole a bar of deodorant at about noon. Police gave the woman a court summons but decided to question her about other unrelated cases.
License Plate Stolen—An Avion Ridge Drive victim reported the front license plate missing from his vehicle. Arnold police entered the license plate as stolen into the law enforcement database.
Debit Cards Stolen, Used—An Abrams Court victim said someone stole hid debit card and used it four times buy items, over two days, in St. Louis County.
Possible Drug Overdose—Arnold police, responding to a call, found an Imperial man, 22 with a syringe filled with a clear liquid at 888 Arnold Commons Dr., the address for Value Place hotel, at about 8 p.m. The Rock Township Ambulance Department took the man to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis County for treatment.
Driving While Influenced—Arnold police, during a traffic stop near the intersection of Interstate 55 and Hwy. 141, charged an Imperial man, 27 with driving while influenced at 1:17 a.m. The man had a blood alcohol level of .203 percent. Police booked the man and released him to a sober driver.
Concrete Saw Stolen—A man reported a $350 Stihl concrete saw missing from the bed of his pickup truck while it was parked on Londell Road at noon.
Gasoline Stolen—A U-Gas employee at 3611 West Outer Rd., said a while male pumped $44 of fuel into a blue Mercury Sable with Missouri license plates and left without paying at 9:40 p.m. Arnold police said the car is registered in Farmington, MO.
Fugitive Accidentally Fires Handgun— A Pevely man, 36, fired his handgun while cleaning it in the 3800 block of Hwy. 141, the address for the Drury Inn Hotel, at 9 a.m. Arnold police learned the man was wanted on St. Louis County traffic warrants. Police booked the man and released him after he posted bond.
More Gasoline Stolen— A U-Gas employee at 3611 West Outer Rd., said a Chevrolet Cavalier with Missouri license plates pumped about $15 in fuel and left without paying at about 6:30 p.m. Arnold police learned the car belongs to an Imperial woman and listed the car, in the law enforcement computer system, as wanted in Arnold.
Juvenile Steals Snacks — At the same gas station, an employee said a female juvenile stole two cans of beer and snacks at about 7 p.m. The juvenile fled in a Chevrolet Cavalier.
Sudden Death — A Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy said that a person died at a North Meadow Mill Drive residence after 2:30 a.m. The deputy said he arrived to see Rock Township EMS take the male victim to a local hospital for treatment. The victim’s brother talked with the deputy and said the victim did not respond to their father’s phone call. The brother attempted to wake his sibling, who felt cold to the touch and had blue colored lips. The deputy said the doctor, who examined the victim at the hospital, pronounced the victim dead on arrival with no obvious signs of death. No trauma, physical injury and no past or recent history of drug abuse. The medical examiner's office will investigate the death, the deputy said.
