The New Republican Central Committee

Last evening I made the mistake of attending the new Central Committee meeting.  What a disappointment!  If you will all remember the Republican caucus back in the month of March, the real Republicans were threatened by the Ron Paul supporters that they would take over the Republican party and "change" things.  Well, I witnessed the so-called change last night and was truly surprised.  The Ron Paul supporters, Mark Paul, Nichole Bradley, Michelle and Bob Hohmeier and Jim Muellersman all fell into line with the rest of the Republican participants at the meeting.  There were no real changes, it was the same as every other meeting.  Why is it when people are with their friends, they have so much courage, but when it comes to standing up for their convictions alone, they cannot do it.  Last night was a perfect example!

Ron Paul supporters, what happened to you replacing the current Chair with a Chair of your choice - what happened to the changes that you swore you were going to make?  It was fun to witness the so called Ron Paul lions that walked into the room, be reduced to the sheep they were throughout the whole meeting.  What happened to their so called Constitutional beliefs?  What happened to Nichole Bradley's convictions?  When she was with her friends at the Caucus in March, I witnessed her screaming at Derrick Good about stealing the roll.  She didn't say a word last night and she didn't vote against Janet Engelbach as the Chair of the Central Committee.  In fact, during a roll call vote, none of the Ron Paul people voted against Janet Engelbach as the Chair - they all voted "yes".  Oh, how things change when you become a part of the party!

It is so ironic that these Ron Paul supporters have been told and will be expected to support all the Republican candidates that are picked by the voters to represent the Republican party and that excludes Ron Paul.  Now, as REPUBLICAN Central Committee members, you will all campaign for those neo-con, party Republicans including Mitt Romney, Derrick Good, George Engelbach, etc. that you swore to fight against during the March caucus.  While I write this, I laugh and remember the posturing that went on throughout that twelve hour day in Hillsboro.  On second thought, I change what I previously said, this is truly worth the waste of an hour last evening when I attended the NEW Central Committee meeting.

I think it might be wise to pick your battles. I also know that the members spoken about know how to count! Some should relax they just sound like poor sports.

The Ron Paul supporters have been told who to support? The last time I checked, the people were allowed, or at least they are supposed to be allowed, the freedom of choice. Are you making a formal statement declaring that The Republican party doesn't actually allow it's members to have their own opinions?

If it was truly a waste of an hour, let us all hope that you do the right thing and stay home for the next meeting, as some of us do not view politics and fixing the state of our nation as much as we can on a local level, a waste of time.

Could you be any more vague? As far as I am concerned, there is not much that can be changed after one meeting.

Sorry, Anthony, I guess I should have used different wording than "attack". I'm glad you're taking action and I understand that it takes real devotion to get out and talk to other people in your community. I wish more people would put their efforts into that instead of hiding behind a computer insulting those of us that actually do get involved.

Kelly, so you think you're going to save your nation or your county at a Central Committee meeting? Have you talked to the people in your community other than Ron Paul supporters? That's where you find out where the issues are. Have you attended a County Counsel meeting - ever? Were you at the meeting Tuesday? Talk is cheap, Kelly, action takes much more work.

I am stating a fact that Ron Paul supporters screamed and took videos and pictures of the Central Committee meetings for months after the caucus. They disrupted numerous meetings after the caucus yelling out "point of order" in the middle of the meeting, calling Janet Engelbach out during the meeting, they even threatened Sunshine requests (which you can't request with a Central Communittee). They were outraged at how Janet Engelbach ran the caucus as an interim Chair at the beginning and they were going to get her out no matter what. Then, Tuesday night comes along and 5 new committee members are Ron Paul people. They went along with the nomination of Janet Engelbach as the Chair, they did not nominate anyone else, why? Then, there was a roll call vote - not one voted against her. Where was the outrage? Where was that strong indignation? What happened? As I said before, it is easier to be rude, obnoxious, loud and make attempts at shoving your opinions down other's throats when you have your friends around you. It's not so easy when you have to be an adult in a room full of other adults.

Ms. Van de reit, You have continually shown people that talk is cheap. You didn't even stay for the whole meeting. I had a previous engagement I could not get out of. If that had not been the case, I would have loved to be there to support those who choose to take an active role in their community.

One has to wonder if you have sour grapes because you lost your race. The only person being rude, loud, and obnoxious here is you, as you seem to be incapable of having a conversation without trying to be insulting. It is very sad. We are trying to get along. You seem to be trying to promote hostile conflict. We are aware that we are new to things, and we are trying to see what really goes on at the meetings since you guys like to kick people out who don't fall in line with your agenda. Also, I couldn't help but notice you made no effort to respond to my previous question.

One last thing.... How can you ridicule people who are trying to make a difference when you, yourself, don't even stay for the whole meeting, and declare in your article that the meeting in and of itself was a waste of time? One has to wonder how long it will be before you end up choking on your own hypocrisies...

Anthony, how much clearer would you like me to be? Instead of attacking me, why don't you take that extra energy, go out today and go door to door (like I have) and talk to the people in your community about their problems, their issues? Stop yapping all over the internet and get involved. You were at the Republican Club Monday night and actually spoke up. Good! But as you can see our leadership works hard to silence those that do not agree with them. Next time, run for a Central Committee position, who knows maybe you can become the next Chair.

Where did I attack you? You made vague statements. As far as being active in my community, I am. As far as being a member of the committee it is impossible as I have meetings at my parish every third Tuesday of the month.

It is the opinion of this office that the St. Louis Republican Central Committee is a "public governmental body" as defined in Section 610.010(2), RSMo Supp. 1975, and is therefore subject to the open meeting requirement of that law."

Kelly,
I also had a previous engagement and my daughter was waiting an hour for me in my vehicle in the parking lot so I did stay as long as I could, again, where were you? I could care less about the Central Committee position. I was doing the same thing as what I am doing now, supporting candidates. I don't need a Central Committee position to do that. Have you supported any candidates? I haven't seen you anywhere when going door to door. As stated previously, I haven't seen you at County Counsel meetings or Republican Club meetings, or Central Committee meetings. It's easy to be ignorant to other people from your computer, isn't it Kelly?

You have still dodged my original question. You stated in your article that " Ron Paul supporters have been told and will be expected to support all the Republican candidates that are picked by the voters to represent the Republican party and that excludes Ron Paul." One might infer that you saying the Republican party does not allow its members to have their own opinion, but rather they are to follow orders... That definitely sounds highly unconstitutional! I would love to hear your thoughts on that if you are capable of delivering them in a manner fitting of an adult.

CONCLUSION!
I walked door to door to campaign for other candidates. That's where you are clueless! It's not about you on the Central Committee, it's about the candidates, I can tell you are not involved nor do you care other than to yap! In answer to your misguided bull about support from other people on my blogs, as I said before I am strong enough in my convictions that I don't need my little friends to come to my rescue like YOU. I have no problem defending myself and I don't need to hold hands to write, evidently you do.

Do you feel better? Is this little temper tantrum about over so we can talk, or are you fit to do this for the rest of the day? You know nothing about me, who I am, what I do, what I think, How I feel, or what I believe. You only make yourself look ignorant by boasting to the contrary. It is impossible to have a conversation with a petulant child, and so I will leave you to throw your little fits, and I will be smiling and looking for YOU at the next central committee meeting. Hopefully you can conduct yourself in a manner more appropriate at that time. We can even talk outside so your poor daughter doesn't have to be kept in the car like a puppy.

You probably wouldn't see me, considering we live in two different communities, so that statement was irrelevant. You're so laughable. You are calling me ignorant because I'm speaking on a computer when you are doing the same thing! You left your daughter in your vehicle for an hour? I have heard of people getting in trouble for doing that to their dogs, and you did that to your own child? Oh my! Where are your priorities, exactly? I do support Candidates. I support Dr. Ron Paul. I support Paul Curtmann. I support Josh Brunner. I support Mark Paul. I support Nicole Bradley. I could go on for some time about the people I endorse. Since we are on the topic of endorsing candidates, how can you, as a woman, endorse a man who says that 'legitimate rape' doesn't produce pregnancies because the woman's body can block the unwanted fertilization? I have attended meetings, and your group cordially kicks us out. Perhaps if we'd been permitted to stay, and not met with such hostility, we would have met in person by now.

So, you're yapping from far away! So you don't want to come face to face with me - I can understand that you need to hide behind your computer screen. YOU are the one that is laughable! You don't have the guts to stand up other than to take pot shots at people that do the real work in the community. I've known many people like you. They open their mouths and spout words that have no substance much less credibility. I'll be around anytime you get some nerve to find out what a real concerned citizen looks like otherwise, you are a mouth and nothing more.

You boast about wanting to actually meet and talk, yet your actions on facebook (you blocking me) you suggest that you really don't want any contact. You also, have still failed to answer my question, which leads me to believe that you actually possess no answers, but rather the exaggerated opinions of an inflated ego... Why don't you get my number from your Best buddy Janet, and give me a call. I'd LOVE to hear from you. ;)

I appreciate you coming to the meeting and observing. I think that what happened at the meeting Tuesday only proved the point of "Ron Paul" people. Those of us elected have respect for the rule of law, elected positions, valid bodies of government, and The Constitution. We knew going in that 5 seats out of 24 was not going to be a majority. Maybe you expected us to delay the meeting through parliamentary procedure, maybe you expected us to somehow take the rolls out of the room, maybe you expected us to be sure the meeting lasted so long that enough people would leave so we could then get our way. If that is what you were expecting you were looking to the wrong people.
I saw you there and was hoping to talk to you. I was also hoping that you would stay and congratulate Nicole Bradley on her victory and give her your best wishes. I won my election against Mr. Vermette and I have the most respect for him after he congratulated me and met with me to give me support and guidance. I ran on the message of trying to bring new blood to the party, to give regular people a voice in the party, and to encourage liberty minded people to get involved in their government. I did not run as a grudge against the central committee or to be a naysayer against the good that the committee can or has done. I want this to be a process by which new people get involved and over time give the party a new direction, I wish you would work with us to improve the party.

Mark Paul,
I do respect you, you worked hard for the seat you were elected to. Thanks for the invitation, but I'm not interested. I am not a Ron Paul supporter and have had entirely too many "bad" experiences with Libertarians.

I didn't take the rolls out of the room, I think you need to talk to Derrick Good, he was there on Tuesday night, why didn't you express your displeasure with him? I guess it's easier to throw barbs at me than to say it to his face.

Good luck, you'll need it!

It is sad, Doris, to watch you get involved in other people's lives because you lack one of your own. You sit at the end of people's driveways and outside their houses wishing you had what they have - a life. You need to get one of your own. On top of that, you are another case of a loser that can't get a real job, you have to look to the taxpayers to support you - that is what is disturbing. You know what they say, the political offices are filled with losers, criminals and frauds - you'll fit right in!

Linda, what is sad is your delusional state! I do not sit anywhere wishing anything, I don't have a lot of time to sit and I don't have to get anything. I don't have to look to the taxpayers to support me. I have my own business and I work very diligently for the people I represent. Who are they? The little voices in your head? You worked for the county and did not do the job you were paid for, so I guess that makes you one of the losers of which you speak. Just because you couldn't make the grade you are running around criticizing everybody else. Do you actually think people agree with you? So this real job you have now, it allows you to post at all hours of the day? Hmmm...interesting.

You are one very ill individual and I hope you get the help you need.
