Two men allegedly stole more than $28,000 in electronics and jewelry, including NFC and Big 12 championship rings, on Dec. 31 from the home of Rob Boras, the St. Louis Rams tight ends coach. James Bright, of the 6200 block of Sunshine Drive in High Ridge, and Jeffrey Medcalf, of the 1100 block of Briarhurst in West County, were charged Friday with second-degree burglary and felony stealing more than $25,000, a class B felony. A man wielding a machete forced his way into a Fenton home on Wednesday demanding to know who stole his money and drugs, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. The incident happened on Cove Drive. A man told police that he was eating dinner when there was a knock on the door. He went to answer the door and another man, wielding a machete, forced his way inside. The man was able to escape from the home without being injured and called 911. Almost $7,000 was reported stolen after a Barnhart woman invited family members over to her house after her husband's funeral on Nov. 10. The victim told officers with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department that she noticed several items missing after family members left her home on Meadowbrook Drive. Among the items were $600 in cash and several pieces of jewelry, including a man's gold wedding band. The woman said she had received a call from her niece who told her who had taken the money and jewelry. Police tried to make contact with the individual to no avail. 

A man who enlisted help in moving into a new home Oct. 22 on River Road in Fenton ended up as a victim of a theft as one of his helpers drove off in his car with numerous of his personal items, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. After loading up his personal items and arriving at the new residence, a woman helper drove off in the man's car that was filled with personal items. valued at $1,339. Several fire departments responded to a blaze in a wooded area early Friday morning between Schneider Drive and Romaine Creek Road, according to our partners at Fox 2. Saline Valley Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Bill Modrosic told Patch his department had received calls throughout the evening about smoke in the area, but were unable to find the fire.  "We were finally able to see the fire off Highway 141 and Schneider about 12:30 a.m., and that's when we called in other departments," Modrosic said.
