Tuesday, April 23 A flatscreen 32-inch television and a Compaq Presario laptop computer were reported stolen in a Burglary on Chippendale Lane in Imperial. The items were valued at $900. It is unknown how entry was made into the house. Deputies are continuing to investigate.
Two people have been arrested in connection with a burglary on East Swaller Road in Imperial. The victim came home and saw her front door window broken with glass laying on the carpet on April 1, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. That's when she discovered that $17,300 in jewelry had been stolen from her jewelry cabinet.  At the scene, a sheriff's deputy took two latent finger print cards, a memory card containing digital images and two swabs from a dried red color substance.  After investigating, the deputy was able to find and arrest the two people responsible.
Monday, Feb. 25 A black 2007 Honda Accord was reported stolen from a driveway on Lombard Lane in Imperial between midnight and 6 a.m. The owner told police that he had a spare set of keys to the Honda in another vehicle in his driveway, and that those keys were missing from that vehicle.   Police received another call from a resident on Lombard Lane about a Velociraptor scanner stolen from a man's locked work truck. Questions about this article may be directed to ryan.martin@patch.com.  Friday, Feb. 8 Sometime between 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 7 and 5:30 a.m. on Feb. 8, a 1994 Chevrolet Truck was stolen on Ike Drive in Barnhart, according to a sheriff's department report. The victim parked his truck in his front yard with the doors locked and no keys inside the vehicle, the report notes. Someone apparently broke out the passenger window to enter the truck, but it's unknown how it was stolen without the keys.  Thursday, Feb. 7 …
Saturday, Feb. 2 A white enclosed trailer and numerous boards were reported stolen from a driveway on Woodland Trails in Imperial The theft occurred between Jan. 30 and Feb 2. The items were valued at $1,650. Police obtained a video surveillance tape from a camera posted at the home. Sunday, Feb. 3 About $1,525 in electronics were reported stolen from a home on Crystal Wood Drive in Arnold. The theft occurred between 11:30 am and 7 p.m. Entry was made through an unlocked sliding glass door. Wednesday, Jan. 23 Six checks and $700 in cash were reported stolen from a home on Castlegate Drive in Imperial between Jan. 14 and Jan 23. Entry was gained through an unlocked window. Further investigation revealed that the suspect forged a check. The total of the thefts was $1,800. The suspect was arrested and warrants have been applied for accordingly. Thursday, Jan. 24 About $30 in change was reported stolen between 6 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. at a home on E. Swaller Road in Imperial. Entry was gained through an unlocked front window. Saturday, Jan. 26 A resident on Meadowfield Drive in Arnold told police that a person who lived at her home periodically had stolen five pairs of earrings and a gold necklace. She said the suspect told her daughter that he had taken the jewelry. Her daughter met with the man and recovered two of the missing pieces of jewelry. The suspect told police via cell phone that he had only taken the two pieces of jewelry that were returned and that he was uncertain of where the remaining pieces of jewelry were. The man refused to meet with an officer. Police have applied for warrants in the case. The …

Monday, Dec. 3 A 2003 black, dual-axle utility trailer worth $2,050 was stolen from a driveway on Valley View Drive in Arnold. The victim told police that he used a heavy duty tongue lock in an effort to keep the trailer from getting stolen.  Police arrested a man for stealing $650 in tools from a contractor at an apartment complex on Miller Road in Imperial. Sunday, Nov. 18  A bed set, a marble nightstand, a table, a TV, and a picture frame were stolen from a home on Cherrybrook Drive in Arnold. The items were valued at $4470. A neighbor told police he/she had seen the suspect in the area on Nov. 17, but did not see him/her enter the home. In the early morning hours, deputies responded to Marriot Lane in Barnhart in reference an assault. Sunday, Nov. 11 A coin collection and jewelry, valued at $4,000, were reported stolen from on a home Anita in Arnold between September and Nov. 11. The victim said she believed it was her ex-roommate who left the home on Nov. 11. Thursday, Nov. 8 Fluorescent light bulbs were reported stolen from a vacant home Crystalwood Drive in Imperial. The victim noticed the missing items and pry marks in the interior garage doors when she did the final walk of the home. Sunday, Oct. 28 A suspect broke into a church on Metropolitan Boulevard in Barnhart and stole a recycling tote containing bags of chips and a plastic trash can. The victim said she and her husband were in the church the night before, and when she came back on Oct. 28, it was in disarray. Forced entry was made through the southern-most facing basement door. Tuesday, Oct. 23 A 1992 blue Ford 1512 4x4 tractor with a front loader was reported stolen from John Swaller in Imperial. The theft occurred between Sunday, Oct. 21 and Tuesday, Oct. 23. The tractor's owner said the keys were not inside the vehicle when it was stolen. Friday, Oct. 26 A white 1985 Buick Regal valued at $2,000 was reported stolen from Ron De Le in Arnold. The vehicle's owner said it was locked when the theft occurred.

Brittany Borman, a Festus* High School graduate from 2008, will travel with the U.S. Team to compete for a gold medal in the javelin throw in the Olympics in London this year. Daryl Ball, owner of a unique business called Passing Lane Motors,  hopes a decision by the Jefferson County Council won't put him in the exit lane from the county where he has lived his entire life. Passing Lane Motors, is a classic and collectible cars dealership at 514 Mae Court, Fenton. What started as a place to show off Ball's collection of classic cars has developed into a destination for small banquets, birthday and anniversary parties, and even the occasional wedding reception. Missouri Rep. John McCaherty (R-90th District), of High Ridge, has been a long supporter of the national Rifle Association (NRA). And the organization has supported him back. This year, as the Aug. 7 primary election nears, McCaherty, who also is pastor of the First Baptist Church of Murphy, is holding a raffle to award one lucky winner with an AR15 rifle that was given to him by the NRA. Editor's Note: Frank C. Bick was not from Fenton, but he had a hand in bringing local news to Fenton and Jefferson County via one of the newspapers of the free-circulation St. Louis Suburban Newspapers chain, of which he was publisher. The Fenton Journal was folded into the Southwest County Journal by subsequent owners of the Journals chain.
