DESCRIPTION:The Jefferson County Housing Task Force is pleased to announc
 e its third Foreclosure Prevention and Financial Resource Fair for those
  who are facing financial hardship\, concerned about not being able to m
 ake their next mortgage payment\, or simply wanting to improve their fin
 ancial health. This free event is open to the public.&nbsp\; The last fa
 ir\, held February 4th\, assisted over sixty local homeowners.&nbsp\;&nb
 sp\;\nThe fair will be attended by major mortgage loan servicers who are
  yet to be announced. ClearPoint Credit Counseling Solutions\, Beyond Ho
 using and United Way will also be present to discuss financial challenge
 s with homeowners.&nbsp\; The event will be held Saturday\, August 11th 
 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the DeSoto Community Center at 400 Boyd 
 St. DeSoto\, MO 63020. No registration is required.\nDepartment of Housi
 ng and Urban Development (HUD)-approved housing counselors will be avail
 able for one-on-one sessions to discuss mortgage and credit concerns. Th
 e fair will also connect attendees to representatives from a local realt
 or and short-sale expert\, title company and attorney for no sales-based
  free advice. These representatives will take questions from homeowners 
 in order to assist them in choosing options that best fit their needs.&n
 bsp\;\nThose who attend for mortgage default and foreclosure mitigation 
 issues should bring the following paperwork:\n&bull\; Tax statements fro
 m the past two years\n&bull\; Proof of income from the last 30 days or b
 enefits award letter.\n&bull\; Two most recent bank statements (checking
 \, savings\, CD\, IRA\, stocks and bonds)\n&bull\; Utility bill and fina
 ncial hardship letter\nAttending this fair is a great opportunity to tak
 e financial inventory\, address concerns\, and reach your personal econo

 Force for free counseling at 877-422-9043.\nThe Jefferson County Housing
  Task Force is a community partnership offering free assistance to Jeffe
 rson County residents facing mortgage problems due to stressed finances.
  This collaboration has resulted in a dedicated counseling hotline and a
  Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-approved housing coun
 selor available in-person by appointment in Arnold. For more information
