Local Girl is State Finalist for Miss Missouri State Pageant

Samantha Dicanida age 12 of Imperial, Missouri will be heading to Columbia, Missouri to show off her talents in the National American Miss Missouri State pageant.

Samantha, will join others from around the state August 8 – 11th  at the Holiday Inn to compete for a chance at $1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses, and air transportation to compete in the National Pageant in California where she will receive a complimentary tour of Hollywood and two VIP passes to Disneyland. Samantha will compete in the 10 - 12 age division, called Miss Pre-Teen. Samantha will turn 13 years old on August 12; however, if she wins she will stay in the same age division.

Samantha has a variety of skills and interests; she is extremely patient, helpful and understanding. She enjoys helping out the community by raising money for abused and neglected children.  Samantha also serves at the K of C hall for St. Johns Catholic Church on bingo night, and volunteers at State Parks, she was awarded the Junior Park Ranger Badge. She enjoys riding her bike, jumping on the trampoline, playing outside with her dogs, listening to music, and spending time with her friends and family.

Samantha likes science and she would like to be meteorologist when she is older; however, she loves animals too and would also like to be a veterinarian or a pet groomer.

The National American Miss Pageants is a natural pageant and they pride themselves on being dedicated to celebrating America’s future leaders and equipping them with life-long skills. Girls under 12 are not allowed to wear make-up, and there is no swimsuit competition. NAM prides themselves on recognizing the inner beauty of their contestants, helping them to develop self-confidence, learning good sportsmanship and helping them to set and achieve their goals.
