$2,500 High School Student Ethics Award

The Better Business Bureau will give three awards to high school students who graduate in May 2013.

High school juniors, expected to graduate in May 2013, can apply to the the Better Business Bureau’s $2,500 Student of Ethics award.

Students who show high ethics through leadership, community service, personal integrity and academic achievement will receive one of the three awards.

The BBB will present the awards at the BBB TORCH Award lunch in the fall. Last year, 251 students from Missouri and Illinois applied for the award. Applicants must reside in one of the 92 counties in Missouri and Illinois served by the St. Louis BBB.

Applicants must submit an entry form, found on the BBB website, a high school transcript, a letter of recommendation and a 300-word essay describing how the student handled an ethical dilemma.

A panel of judges will choose three winners, consider each student's leadership qualities, academic performance and character.

Applications are due by April 27.
