Barnhart Family Reunited with Pet After Four Years

Veterinarians found the owners' information on a computer chip placed in the dog.

A little boy from Fenton, his family, a Webster Groves veterinarian and a computer chip helped reunite a much beloved dog with its Barnhart owners after four years.

The boy saw the dog, a Terrier mix, in Fenton a few times, the stltoday.com website reports. The boy's family caught the dog because it looked thin and brought it to the Webster Groves Animal Hospital.

While examining the dog, hospital staff found the computer chip and its owners' contact information to a land-line phone.

The family disconnected the landline phone service after the terrier was lost, the website reports, but requested call to the landline service be forwarded to a personal business phone number.
