Festus Couple Pass On Auction Bid For Cave Home

Curt and Deborah Sleeper declined a weekend offer to buy their cave house.

A Festus couple who own a house built into a cave are still selling their home after declining an offer.

Curt and Deborah Sleeper are auctioning their 3-bedroom, 1 bathroom home built into a sandstone mining cave, the Associated Press reported. But the two passed on a offer over the weekend to buy the pad for $220,000, waiting out a higher bid.

The AP reports if the Sleepers can’t sell the home in the next few days, they’ll try selling it by “more conventional” means.
