Arnold Speeders get 2,500 Tickets in One Year

Arnold speeders are getting TV news attention.

Speeders in Arnold have recieved attention from TV news again.

The Arnold Police Department has given more than 2,500 speeding tickets to people speeding since January 2011, reports the KTVI.com news website.

Correction: Only a few tickets were issued to speeders on Glatt Drive, said Major McBroom, of the Arnold Police Department, in a phone interview.

A Glatt Drive resident, who appeared on KTVI, says speeders are using her neighborhood street to avoid traffic on Old Lemay Ferry Road.

Although the speed limit is 20 mph on Glatt Drive, some people are speeding through at speeds up to 40 mph and threatening children playing in the neighborhood.

The neighborhood wants speed bumps, the resident said.

People who want to talk about speeding on Glatt Drive should attend the next Arnold City Council meeting at City Hall, 2101 Jeffco Blvd., on April 5 at 7 p.m.
