How Does Arnold Benefit from Jefferson County?

About 55 percent of people said that Arnold should remain in Jefferson County. Why?

About three weeks ago, in jest, during an Arnold City Council meeting the idea was mentioned of seceding from Jefferson County at an Arnold City Council meeting.

At least 90 people  and 55 percent of those people said Arnold should remain in Jefferson County.

The question is, how does the city benefit from remaining in Jefferson County?

During the council meeting, Arnold Treasurer Dan Kroupa said the city seems to be the economic engine helping the Jefferson County economy become profitable.

An editorial on stltoday.com cited data that said Jefferson County ranked 106th out of Missouri's 115 counties due to health issues.

The same editorial said 30 percent of Jefferson County's population smokes, where Arnold passed ordinanances limiting smoking at restaurants.

Arnold also recently closed a street in Theodore Ridge subdivision that people dangerously sped through to travel to sections of Arnold and Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County charter government's power has little sway in Arnold.

So with the differences between Arnold and Jefferson County, there has to be a reason for Arnold to remain in Jefferson County.

So, Arnold residents, what are the city's benefits from Jefferson County?
