Arnold Days Schedule: Everything You Need to Know

Arnold is celebrating its 40th birthday with a car show, parade, carnival rides and contests all weekend long. Fireworks are scheduled for Saturday night.

Here’s a rundown of all the fun events going on at this year’s Arnold Days Festival.

All festival events will be held in unless otherwise noted. There is no entrance fee. Parking will be in Arnold City Park or in the athletic fields across Jeffco Blvd. Police will direct you to parking.

Please note: Pets, alcoholic beverages and glass containers are NOT allowed. Service animals are welcome.

Tickets for carnival rides will be $2.25 each, or 10 for $20 at the festival. All rides take one ticket. Discount tickets can be bought in advance at the until Friday at 4 p.m. for 10 tickets for $15.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 14 (5 p.m. to 11 p.m.)

  • Carnival rides, craft and food booths (all day): Carnival rides require one ticket (see above for pricing).
  • Helicopter rides (5 p.m. to dusk): Rides are $35 each, with a limit of two or three riders per flight, depending on weight limits.
  • Jessie Kohut & the Boys (7 p.m.)

SATURDAY, SEPT. 15 ( 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.)

  • Children’s fishing tournament (7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.): Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Fishing starts at 9 a.m. Free event. There are three age categories for ages 1-5, 6-9 and 10-12 with a first, second and third prize for each category. There is a two pole limit and everyone must bring their own equipment and bait. Parents may help cast, but children must reel in their own fish. For more information, call 636-282-2380.
  • Car show (8 a.m.): Registration from 8 a.m. to noon, with judging beginning at noon. Awards at 4 p.m. Free for spectators, $20 entry fee with proceeds to benefit Arnold Police K-9 program.
  • Longbeard’s Children’s nature crafts and B.B. gun shooting (9 a.m.): Free event.
  • Carnival rides, helicopter rides and booths open (noon)
  • Dance presentation by Productions Unlimited (2 p.m.)
  • Hot dog eating contest at the Arnold Rec Center (6 p.m.): Contestants will be challenged to see who can eat 10 hot dogs the fastest. Cash prize is $100. Sponsored by Gordon Food Service and the Arnold Jaycees. Advanced registration required, call 636-282-2380.
  • Joe Dirt and the Dirty Boys (7 p.m.)
  • Fireworks (8:30-9 p.m.)

SUNDAY, SEPT. 16 (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

  • 5k/1 Mile Fun Run (8 a.m.): Registration begins 7:15 a.m. The run will take place inside Arnold City Park. Advance registration will be accepted at the Arnold Rec Center until Friday for $15 for adults. Sign up on race day will be $20. Child registration is $10 anytime. Medals will be awarded for first place male runner, female runner and runner under 12.
  • Carnival rides, helicopter rides and booths open (noon)
  • Parade (1 p.m.): Parade will start at the Fox Service Center and travel to Arnold City Park along Jeffco Blvd. There is no parking at the service center, but parking is allowed on the Fox school campus.
  • Texaco Country Showdown (4 p.m.)
