Take Healthy Break at the Arnold Recreation Center, Library

Work up a sweat or chill out at the Arnold Recreation Center and Library.

Moms looking for an escape from their kids can take a healthy break at the  and . Here you can enjoy a kid-free workout or settle down with a cup of coffee and a good book. If you have the time, why not try both?

The Arnold Rec Center and library share a facility off Astra Way and Missouri State Road. You can start your time here with a work out at the gym, run a few laps around the indoor track, dive in for a refreshing swim, then stroll down the hall to the library. Life Change Café is nestled between the two facilities, selling coffee, cold beverages and snacks. Feel free to bring your beverage into the library and enjoy it while sitting next to the faux fire in the reading lounge with a good book or magazine.

The library also offers free Wi-Fi to both members and guests—just ask at the desk how to get started.

Moms who have a hard time finding babysitters during the day can still take advantage of the Rec Center. Free babysitting is offered to members in the Kids Club from 8 a.m. to noon and 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Non-members can use the service for $3.

Daily admission to the Arnold Rec Center is $6, residents and non-residents alike. The center is open from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. The Arnold branch of the Jefferson County Library is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and closed on Sunday.
