World War II Weekend Kicks Off April 26 at Jefferson Barracks Park

The event features three battle reenactments, living history camps, military vehicle displays, weapons demonstrations, dinner and a dance.

Mark your calendars! World War II Weekend 2013 at Jefferson Barracks Park is set for this weekend.

The annual event, presented by the 2nd Ranger Infantry Battalion of St. Louis, will feature three battle reenactments, living history camps, military vehicle displays, weapons demonstrations and dinner and a dance.

Saturday, April 27

  • First Battle and weapons demonstration:Β 10 to 10:30 a.m.
  • Second Battle and weapons demonstration: 3 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Dinner with the Friends of Jefferson Barracks: 5 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Canteen dance sponsored by Friends of Jefferson Barracks: 7 to 11 p.m.

Sunday, April 28

  • Battle: noon to 12:30 p.m.

The reenactors set up on Friday and visitors can walk through the encampments to see historical artifacts throughout the weekend. The event will be held rain or shine.
