Getting back to work

I have been visiting with members of our community and it is with a heavy heart to hear their stories about men and women who have worked for 5, 10, or even 15 years just to too be laid off or even fired from their place of employment and I can see the fear and helplessness in their eyes not know how they are going to pay the house payment or even put food on the table for their children. This campaign is to help the lower-middle class and when I talk to these wonderful people I feel that my cause is worth fighting for. Some may know this about me, other may not, or may not care and thinks I should not say anything about my religion but, I am going too. I am a devout Roman Catholic, most of the time after I have talked to anyone that has a problem in their life, I think about it and after I have placed my son safely in his bed and my wife goes to bed without me beside her I turn the television off, open the Book of Law, pray the rosary, and pray for the people and ask the Lord to guide me and let me do his will and let my will be pushed aside. In this campaign, is for the voice of the voiceless and the wisdom of the Lord and Holy Sprite will lead me to serve the citizens of the 3rd district and county better for I am the servant of God first, and the people second.

My friends, we have an unemployment rate of 6.9% in the State of Missouri and our county unemployment rate of 7.0% (Department of Labor June 2013) and we are watching friends and neighbors lose not only their jobs but, the American dream. Some in the Missouri House and Senate want to pass a right to work bill; this bill will destroy the Missouri work force.  We need common sense that will not only help the 3rd district but, our county as a whole to get the unemployment rate down. After, many sleepless nights and many of hours praying for guidance from the Lord The Missourians first bill has come to life.

1.) Inform the company which receive tax credits from the cities in our county and the county as a whole that they must hire residents of Jefferson County first then, residents of the State of Missouri before any out-of-state workers can be considered for a position to be considered or keep their tax credits for the business.

2.) That if a business has more than fifty employees it must allow a union organizer from the AFL-CIO and the local that will represent the employees to come and talk to them about organizing the work force. Also the company must allow the employees to vote whether or not they would like to be a part of an organized labor union. Some company who do not want to pay union wages or have their employees join a union may release workers to get below the threshold so they do not have to comply, if a company is caught doing this they will lose tax credits and be investigated by the Attorney General office for violating state and federal law.

3.) Whereas, knowing that small businesses are the back bone of our state and they hire local residents for their job. All tax credit that larger businesses get will as apply to small business in the county. For the company/business that does not comply with this act, All percent of tax credit that where to be given will be placed in the County Highway fund, Jefferson County Sherriff fund, and D.A.R.E. Program for future generations of Jefferson County to enjoy.

There are a lot of problems in our nation these days but, take the time to shut the world off, look at your family and neighbors give thanks for having them in your life. If they need help see what you can do for them because, Charity is the greatest gift that we as brothers and sisters of the same parent can give to one another. I ask that you pray for this nation and county as a whole to come back to God and with his help we will be great again and I ask that you pray for me that I will continue to do the Lords work and help the people in this campaign and beyond.

Sincerely yours;

Charles Huey
