Arnold Sonic Restaurant Is In a National Competition

Sonic company managers have been testing and quizzing drive-through crew members for at least six months during the competition.

The crew at 1907 Richardson Rd., is among 300 remaining teams hoping to be one of the Final 12 teams particpating in the Dr. Pepper Sonic  Games National Finals in San Antonio this September.

The event, which is been held for 19 years, is an annual competition recognizing the best Sonic crew in the country, a company news release said.

“We’re extremely proud of these crewmembers for their hard work and dedication to providing extraordinary customer service,” said John Salama, vice president of training for SONIC Drive-In.

Crews participating in the event particpate in team and individual competitions and quizzes. The Olympic-style competition occurs during nine months and tests crewmembers’ knowledge and expertise in food delivery, drink preparation, service delivery and food preparation.

The Top 300 will narrow to 48 crews in July. Those 48 crews then compete in new quizzing events and other qualifiers to determine the Final 12 crews who receive all-expense-paid trips to San Antonio for the National Finals on Sept. 10-11.
