"The Hill" in Oakville: Bill Gianino's Traditional Italian Cuisine

Taking Italian cuisine off the Hill to Oakville has made Bill Gianino's a winner with patrons since 1975.

No need to travel to The Hill to satisfy cravings for Italian food; instead head south to Oakville where Bill Gianino’s been serving up traditional Italian cuisine since 1975.

Bill Gianino’s, located in Chestnut Park Plaza at the intersection of Telegraph and Yaeger roads has earned a reputation for providing quality Italian specialties, pastas and St. Louis-style pizzas served in friendly surroundings. The décor is understated and inviting for either family or special occasion dining. And attentive servers are knowledgeable and readily explain daily specials and menu options.

Those options include 28 different pasta picks including red, white or garlic butter sauces along with stuffed classics as cannelloni, tortellini and ravioli - served toasted or boiled and sauced.  Pasta portions are generous with an average price hitting around $12.95. House pasta specialties cost a few dollars more as the Shrimp Linguini ($15.95) or the Gorgonzola Penne Polla ($14.95), a whole wheat pasta is topped with chicken and tossed in a garlic, gorgonzola cream sauce laced with basil and sun-dried tomatoes. The Ravioli Prosciutto ($13.95) is a beef stuffed ravioli enrobed in a prosciutto, broccoli and mushroom studded cream sauce. According to servers, it's a customer favorite and worth sampling.

Modiga-style preparations for steak and chicken are on the entrée tally along with veal, steaks and seafood. Recommended house specialties are Veal Parmigano, Chicken or Shrimp Spedini and Sicilian Style Steak or Swordfish, which are both lightly breaded, charbroiled and are topped with a garlic butter or a tomato basil relish. Sandwiches and salads contribute to both the lunch and dinner menu along with the house-made pizza that includes creative topping combos as the Chicken Veggie and the Gianino’s Spicy Mexican.
