“Fill the Trailer: Feed a Pet in Need” Challenge to Schools and Business Owners in JeffCo

A fun fundraiser to stock the Jefferson County Pet Food Pantry shelves.

Looking for schools and businesses to participate in helping replenish our pantry shelves.

Dear Administrator or Business Owner,

Hello, my name is Debby Mikles. I am the President of Jefferson County Pet Food Pantry, founded in February 2011. The mission of the Jefferson County Pet Food Pantry is to provide pet food to Jefferson County residents experiencing financial hardship and unable to afford food for their family pets. We currently serve over 50 residents on a monthly basis and would love to help more. We also deliver pet food to those with disabilities and to seniors. Recently we have assisted in helping people who cannot afford to spay or neuter their pets hoping to curb the stray pet population in our community. We have filed for our 501c3 and should be receiving it very soon. Our non-for-profit organization depends solely on donations to fulfill our mission.

I am writing to you today to ask if your school or business would be interested in assisting me with a fun fundraiser that I am planning. Our fundraiser is called “Fill the trailer: Feed a pet in need”. We would like to challenge your students/employees to fill our trailer with pet food. We would like to park the trailer (with our banner attached) at your school or business for one day and challenge your students/employees to fill it to the brim with pet food! We are in desperate need of dry dog and cat food. Not only would this be a great fundraiser for us, it would also be a great community service project for your students, faculty or employees.

Thank you for your time and hopefully we can work together to help the people of Jefferson County keep their beloved pets at home and out of the shelters.
