Flood Waters In Arnold Receding

All seems to be going back to normal with flood waters receding in Arnold.

The Meramec River near Arnold crested at 33.6 feet in early May and prompted the closure of Arnold City Park and Flamm City. Flood stage is 24 feet.
Arnold City Park had to close again in early June, when a June 1 storm system brought more torrential rainfall.

On Tuesday, near the boat ramp at Flamm, you could see where the water took over the parking lot. As it has receded, mud, which is drying out and tree limbs remain.

At both areas, people are back to fishing.

At Arnold City Park, runners circled the trail while residents played with their dogs at the dog park.

Still, some areas are experiencing high waters. On the St. Louis County side Widman, Lower Meremec and Lower Cliff Cave Trail are all closed due to flooding.

Arnold Stream Team 211 has also been keeping a close eye on flooding, and posted more than 40 photos to its album on Facebook.
