No Major Accidents in Arnold After Winter Storm

Motorists couldn't drive down Telegraph Road for about an hour on Thursday, but no major accidents were reported.

Although Arnold was blanketed by snow during a winter storm on Thursday, there were no severe accidents or injuries reported, said Maj. Nick McBroom of the Arnold Police Department.

"It went fairly smoothly," McBroom said. "It was kind of uneventful."

The worst of traffic problems occurred on Telegraph Road, where semi-trucks became stuck and closed traffic for about an hour.

Many other vehicles spotted the sides of the roads, McBroom said, but they didn't create any traffic problems.

Elsewhere in the St. Louis area, the conditions led to the cancellation of more than 160 flights at Lambert International Airport and the shutdown of much of I-270 and I-64 so Missouri Department of Transportation crews could remove snow.

The weekend forecast doesn't appear to be as troublesome as Thursday's weather, but a chance of rain and snow is possible on Monday and Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
