NRA: Put Armed Cops in Schools
The National Rifle Association said armed police officers should be in every school to stop the next killer waiting in the wings.
The Associated Press is reporting that the NRA wants armed cops in our schools to prevent bad guys with guns.
"The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun," said Wayne LaPierre, the NRA's top lobbyist.
The NRA has kept silent after last week's school shooting in Newtown, CT. Today's press conference was highly anticipated to see what the nation's top group on gun rights would say about the slaying of 20 school children and their teachers at Sandy Hook.

Last night, Patch talked with Arnold Police Chief Robert Shockey. He said that guns did not belong in schools, even in the hands of teachers. He said that arming teachers could cause even more tragedy if a school did have an incident, because police officers coming on the scene could have a hard time telling the good guys from the bad.
