Route 141 To Close At I-44 Friday Due To Flooding

The closure of Route 141 may occur prior to, or during, Friday morning peak traffic times.

Missouri Department of Transportation officials are prepared to close Route 141 underneath the Interstate 44 interchange in Valley Park early Friday morning.

Based upon current river stage predictions by the National Weather Service, Route 141 is expected to flood overnight due to the rising water of the Meramec River. The closure of Route 141 may occur prior to, or during, Friday morning peak traffic times. Motorists are encouraged to listen to local media for up-to-date details on highway closures. Crews will reopen the interchange as soon as waters recede and the road becomes safe to travel.

Recommended east-west alternate routes to take are Route 340 (Olive Boulevard), Route 100 (Manchester Road), Route 30 (Gravois Road) and Route 21 (Tesson Ferry Road).

Motorists traveling north-south can use Interstate 270 or Highway 61/67 (Lindbergh Boulevard) as recommended alternate routes.

Additional closures of sections of state roads across the region are due to flooding. MoDOT continues to monitor roads across the region and may close further roads, if needed for the safety of the traveling public.

Additional information on flood closures on state routes is available at MoDOT’s Travelers Information Map, available at maps.modot.mo.gov/travelerinformation/TravelerInformation.aspx or MoDOT’s Gateway Guide atwww.gatewayguide.com  or  by calling MoDOT as 1-888-ASK-MODOT (275-6636) or visit our website at www.modot.org.
