Slick, Slushy Road Conditions for Today's Commute

About 2 inches of snow expected in Arnold and the St. Louis area by this afternoon.

Despite having cleared most of the snow from Interstate 55 and Route 141, the Missouri Department of Transportation is advising drivers of slick and slushy road conditions for today.

Interstate 44 west of the Interstate-270 interchange remained covered in snow as of 7:30 a.m., according to the MoDOT website.Β 

Drivers exiting I-55 to Delors Street in St. Louis should find an alternate route. Bridge work began at that exit at 7 a.m. this morning and is scheduled until Oct. 1.

As much as 2 inches of snow should fall in the region by this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. The snow has reduced visibility to 1 mile in certain locations, the weather service said.

Little or no snow is expected to fall overnight, the weather service said.Β

Weather forecasters expect Tuesday's high temperature to be 48 degrees.
