When the American Chamber Chorale was founded by Stephen Morton in 2001, one of his goals was to “give back to the community.” Now in Season XII, the Chorale continues this tradition with a concert featuring selections from Handel's Messiah to benefit an important charity, Feed My People, that serves clients in St. Louis and Jefferson Counties. Mark your calendar to attend the concert Sunday, December 16th, 3:00 PM at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 9907 Sappington, St. Louis, 63128.

In addition to Messiah selections, including the Hallelujah Chorus, the American Chamber Chorale's program will also feature arrangements of familiar carols by today's most significant composers. Audience members will join the Chorale in singing traditional Christmas carols, celebrating the season by sharing the joy of music while also benefiting Feed My People. A reception for all will follow the concert.

The mission of Feed My People, a Christian interdenominational help center, is to show God’s love and compassion to all of His people, particularly His people in need. Feed My People was established in 1982 by John and Carol DeGuire to meet the growing needs of the poor. As one of the largest food pantries in metropolitan St. Louis, Feed My People provides food valued at over $3 million dollars, helping clients of all ages and ethnicities. In addition to providing food, twenty additional programs are offered as funds allow. "Hand In Hand--The Dream Continues," that is all of us, reaching out and helping each other, especially those who need our help the most.

Admission/Donation ticket prices range from $5 to $25 and can be purchased at the door or ordered on the Chorale's web page, www.americanchamberchorale.com. For more information about the concert, please call 314.638.0793 or visit the Chorale's web page.
