Theater/Concerts

Thursday - Friday

Too Hot to Handel: A Gospel Messiah performed by St. Louis Symphony Orchestra at Powell Hall.  Adding a jazz and gospel twist to Handel’s Messiah, this high-energy, upbeat performance with the St. Louis Symphony IN UNISON® Chorus and conductor Kevin McBeth will have you dancing in the aisles! December 12-13, 2013.

Friday - Sunday

COCA Presents 2013-2014: The Little Dancer: Through a New Lens  Internationally-known St. Louis photographer Stewart Halperin provides the artistic backdrop for this story ballet, which magically brings Degas’ famous statuette to life.

Saturday - Sunday:

The Nutcracker  Join Chesterfield Arts and Alexandra Ballet for a family-friendly adaptation of this timeless classic. It's the perfect way to ring in the holiday season! December 14-15 at The Purser Center at Logan University.

Tuesday

St. Louis Symphony Chamber Concert Series  In Piper Palm House at Tower Grove Park.  Space is limited and no reservations will be taken. 6:30 PM Doors Open, 7 PM Concert Begins. FREE.

Elf - The Broadway Musical opens at The Fabulous Fox Theatre. Performances December 17-29.

Dine with Santa!

Friday 

Breakfast with Santa at Dinner-time (Belleville) at Eckert's Country Store and Farms. Join us for breakfast with Santa at our Belleville farm at dinner-time! Children can tell Santa their Christmas wishes and receive a special gift. We will capture the moment in a photo of your child with Santa. Reservations are suggested.

Saturday-Sunday

Supper With Santa at The Butterfly House. Have dinner with Santa in The Butterfly House! Your ticket includes spaghetti dinner, a picture with Santa, butterfly hunt night walks through our Flight House, face painting, ornament making, storytime, and cookies with hot chocolate.

Breakfast with Santa at the Zoo! at St. Louis Zoo. Indulge your family and friends this holiday season by treating them to a gourmet, festive breakfast buffet! Breakfast includes a photo with Santa, a gift for kids, visits from costumed characters, free parking and more.



Breakfast with Santa (Belleville) at Eckert's Country Store and Farms. Join us for breakfast with Santa at our Belleville farm! Children can tell Santa their Christmas wishes. Santa has a special gift for each child. We will capture the moment in a photo of your child with Santa. Reservations are suggested.

Macy's Holiday Train at The Museum of Transportation. Come see the Macy's Holiday Train displayed in its new home, the Museum of Transportation! Exhibit will be open through December 30 and is included in regular Museum admission.

St. Charles Christmas Traditions. Main Street St. Charles comes alive with Santas from around the world, Victorian Carolers, and the Legends of Christmas, Join the festivities every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Dec 24!

Garden Glow and Victorian Christmas at Tower Grove House at Missouri Botanical Garden.  For the first time, hundreds of thousands of lights illuminate some of the Garden's most iconic locations this winter at Garden Glow! And at the same time you can also see the Victorian country home of Garden founder Henry Shaw decked for the holidays in true Victorian style.

 

Thursday

Preschool Sewing at St. Louis County Library - Tesson Ferry Branch . It's never too early to learn basic sewing skills! Let your little ones explore the ins and outs of stitching while making projects just right for little hands. Ages 3-6. Registration required. Limit 20.

 

Friday-Sunday:

Krueger Pottery Supply's Annual Holiday Bazaar & Studio Open House. Kids need a place to shop for unique holiday gifts! Our holiday bazaar showcases student work, and it's all for sale! Watch wheel throwing demonstrations and take a tour of our studio. Enjoy milk and cookies as you shop our students' booths.

 

Saturday

The KCS Holiday Express Train at Union Station. St. Louis Union Station celebrates the return of the KCS Holiday Express this holiday season on December 14! The six-car train brings Santa Claus and his elves to communities throughout the U.S. This event is free and open to the public.

Men's Basketball: SLU v. Wofford. Bring the family to see Saint Louis University Billikens Basketball take on Wofford at Chaifetz Arena. Game time is scheduled for 7:00pm.

Santa's Helpers at St. Charles Parks & Recreation. Have your little helpers join us for a day of Christmas crafts, games, and movies! We will provide a day of fun Christmas activities, along with a pizza lunch and holiday snacks!

Owl Prowl at World Bird Sanctuary. Learn more about the amazing life of Owls! A WBS naturalist will introduce you to live owls and their unique calls. Then, take an easy night hike through our grounds to try and call in a wild owl.

 

Saturday-Sunday

Pet-acular Holiday Bazaar at Purina Farms. Come shop, celebrate and commemorate the season at our annual family– and dog – friendly festival at the indoor Purina Event Center. Admission and parking are FREE. Donations accepted. December 14-15, 11am-4pm.

Visit with Santa in the Wabash Caboose at The Museum of Transportation. Santa is making his Ho-Ho-Home at the Museum of Transportation this holiday season! Visit with Santa in the Wabash Caboose - be sure to bring your camera! Santa visits are included with regular Museum admission.
