What to do with kids this weekend in St. Louis

St. Louis has tons for kids to do this weekend. Read on to find out about them!

Friday 

Toddler Time at Sky Zone Sports - St. Louis. Fridays from 9am-10am, only $6/toddler (ages 5 and under) and a parent gets to jump for FREE with them! SkySocks are required $1.50/pair and both toddler and parent are required to have them (but then they are yours to keep and reuse!)

Spanish para todos! Spanish for all!! at MiMundostl.com. Come learn the Spanish language with your child of any age! It's fun. musical and interactive!

Owl Prowl at Rockwoods Reservation. Who’s that hooting it up during the night? Owls that’s who! Learn what makes owls such effective night time hunters and why they hoot so much this time of year. Free Family Event.

Storytelling at the Missouri History Museum: HAPPY, SAD, GLOOMY, GLAD at Missouri History Museum. Listen to the tales of lovable characters who express different feelings! Programs are held Fridays at 10:30am and Saturdays from 10am-12:30pm. Children also enjoy a hands-on craft. Free!

 

Saturday 

Winter Wonderland at The Magic House. Celebrate winter with a special ice sculpting performance by a master carver from Ice Visions! Watch a block of ice transform into a special winter masterpiece! Plus, enjoy some hands on winter-themed art projects, activities and more!

Raptor Saturdays at Alton Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau . See a raptor, up close and personal. TreeHouse Wildlife Center will be at the Center with a rehabilitated raptor. It could be an owl, hawk or falcon. Stop by the Center to see who shows up. For more information, call (636) 899-0090. Free!

The Pointe at Ballwin Commons Open House at City of Ballwin - Parks & Recreation. This is our free day of fun! Visit the Pointe for FREE! Take a fitness class, swim, play basketball or just come see what we have to offer!

Family Science Saturday: This is Your Brain, on Brains at Saint Louis Science Center. Delve into the unseen and amazing science of the brain. The Science Center’s very own Neuroscientist will guide all ages through fun experiments displaying the effects of stress, learning/memory, movement and senses.

Saturday-Sunday

Visiting Artist Series - Paper Artist John Bielik  at The Magic House. Visitors are invited to join paper artist John Bielik in the Art Studio to explore the traditional craft of paper marbling. Using colored inks to create vibrant swirls, visitors will transform an ordinary sheet of paper into a work of art.

COCA Presents 2013-2014: Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble at COCA-Center of Creative Arts. This collaborative, 75-minute dance concert features the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble, plus choreography they set on COCAdance and the COCA Hip-Hop Crew – providing the dynamic energy audiences have come to love about these companies!

Peter and the Wolf by St. Louis Symphony Orchestra at Powell Hall. Designed to engage and entertain children ages 5-12, Family Concerts are a fun place for families to be together, learn together, listen together and make memories together.

 

Monday


Budding Artists at St. Louis County Library - Headquarters. Join us for a brand new preschool art program where the focus is on the process of making art rather than the finished product. Art activities will be open-ended and explorative in nature. Dress to be messy. Ages 3-6. Registration required. Free.

 

Tuesday

Returning Giants: Bison and Elk at Powder Valley Nature Conservation Center. How magnificent these “giants” are! And how lucky we are to have some back again! Join us for “giant” fun with stories, song, activities, and crafts. Ages 4 and up.

Pint Size Jungle Safari Party at City of Crestwood Parks Department. Anyone between the ages 2-6 come and join us for our super safari party on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 10:00-11:30am!

 

Wednesday



Meet Local (Children's) Authors at Left Bank Books, from 6-8 p.m; Susan Grigsby, Patricia McKissack, Bobby Norfolk, and Jeanie Franz Ransom will speak and sign books in the Juvenile Fiction Room (by the fireplace).
