JEFFERSON COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL OPEN HOUSE

Jefferson County Animal Control Center will hold its Spring Open House on Sat. May 31 from 1:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m.at the Animal Control Center. The open house will offer tours of the animal control center and will feature adoptable pets.

In addition to Jefferson County Animal Control, other local animal welfare organizations will have booth space set up to promote their organizations adoptable animals and to speak with the public of the services they have available. Organizations scheduled to attend include Open Door Sanctuary, the Jefferson County Pet Food Pantry, A.D.O.P.T. and Sheltered Buddies of Missouri.

Current County ordinance requires all dogs and cats in unincorporated Jefferson County be licensed with Animal Control annually and be vaccinated against rabies. Dr. Phillip Wagenknect, The Animal Control Center's attending veterinarian, will be conducting a low cost rabies vaccination clinic for dogs and cats that have not bitten anyone within the previous ten days. County Animal Licenses will be available for the vaccinated animals.
