TIP OF THE WEEK: Quitting smoking is one of the best things anyone can do for their health. Smoking increases your risk of many types of cancer, heart attacks, and can cause severe lung diseases like COPD (otherwise known as emphysema). There are many resources out there to help people quit smoking, like 1-800-QUIT-NOW. There are several strategies that you can work with your doctor on to make it easier on you as well, like nicotine replacement or even medications. While it can be very difficult for people to quit, it only has to stick once!
