5.41% Fee to pay for School Lunches

Remember the days of buying a lunch ticket and you got it punched when you bought a lunch? Well those days are long gone.  Now you can pay  your childs lunch online, with a fee. As if school lunch wasn't high enough as it is.  Last year the Fox C6 school district used LunchMoney.com as their way to pay oline and their fee is $1.50 per transaction. But you could pay for all your childrens lunches at one time and be charged the $1.50 no matter what.

This year Fox C6 went to a new program http://portal.fox.k12.mo.us.  During school registration the school talked about the new portal and was saying how much people complained that lunchmoney.com charged too much for fees. I was excited to here that it was going to change.
Much to my disapointed surprise the new fee is a percentage base fee. So for a $37.00 payment you are charged $2.00 that is a 5.41% fee.

There are ways to avoid the fees by giving a check directly to the school or sending cash with your child. Which I am inclined to start doing.  But I would like to propose this arguement to the School Board on reducing that fee or going back to lunchmoney.com

If you would like to contact Fox C6 you may do so at:
745 Jeffco Blvd. Arnold MO 63010 US | Phone: 636-296-8000 | Fax: 636-282-5170  If you would like to attend the next Board Meeting it will be on November 19, 2013 (I do not know where at this time or what time it begins because that information is not given out)  The previous meetings were held at  Fox C-6 Service Center, Roy Wilde Conference Center, 849 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold, Missouri, at 7:00 p.m.
