A Passenger Steals a Do-Gooder's Car

The Arnold Police Department provided the following information. None of it indicates a conviction or guilty plea.

May 20

Driving While Influenced—During a traffic stop near the intersection of Jeffco Boulevard and Bradley Beach Road learned that a De Soto woman, 56, was driving while influenced at about 3:45 p.m. Police brought the woman to the at 2101 Jeffco Blvd., where she refused to take a breath test. Police charged the woman and held her in a jail cell until a sober driver could take her home.

Assault, Fugitive—Arnold police officers found an Arnold man, 43, in the 2100 block of Christy Drive at 7:30 a.m. and charged him with assault that was reported earlier in the day. Police checked the law enforcement databases and learned the man is wanted on warrants by the Washington County, MO Sheriff’s Department. Police jailed and questioned the man, then released him for transport to Washington County.

Drug, Paraphernalia Possession—Arnold police investigated a suspicious vehicle parked at grocery at 3900 Vogel Rd., at about 2 p.m. and learned a Barnhart man, 31, possessed marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Police released at man at the scene with a court summons.

Threatening an Officer, Fugitive—Arnold police officers investigated a disturbance at Potomac Drive at about 3:40 a.m. and found an Arnold man, 24, on street. Officers learned the man was wanted on a warrant from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. During the arrest, the man threatened an Arnold police officer. Police charged the man, issued a court summons to him and jailed him until the Sheriff’s Department could take him to county jail.

May 18

Purse Stolen from Unlocked Vehicle—A Briarwood Manor Drive woman reported her purse, music CDs and paperwork missing from her unlocked car while it was parked overnight.

Driving While Influenced, Marijuana Possession—During a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Jeffco Boulevard, at about 9 p.m., Arnold police learned a Union, MO woman, 51, was driving while influenced. The woman had a blood alcohol level of .223 percent and in possession of marijuana, police said. Police charged the woman, issued citations to her and released her to a sober driver.

Stealing, Tampering with Utilities—Arnold police responded to a call about men tampering with utility lines in the 2100 block of Park Drive at about 9 p.m. Officers found two men from Arnold, a 62-year-old and a 27-year-old and learned the men reactivated the building’s electricity after Ameren UE stopped service on May 17. Police issued citations to the men and released them. 

Driving While Influenced, Wanted on Multiple Warrants—Arnold police investigated a call about a man slumped in the driver’s seat of a vehicle on Buck Drive at about 1 a.m. Officers found an Arnold resident, 25, in the vehicle, learned he was driving while influenced and wanted on warrants from the City of Arnold, the Jefferson County Sheriff’ Department and from the St. Louis County Police Department. The man refused to take a breath test. Officers held the man at the Arnold police station and held until an out-of-city law enforcement officer could take him for further processing.

Assault—Officers charged an Arnold woman, 22, and an Arnold man, 26, with assault on Richardson Road at about 3 a.m. Police charged both people, issued court summons to them and held from for 12 hours

May 17

Driving While Influenced—During a traffic stop in the 3700 block of Vogel Road at about 1:45 a.m., officers arrested an Arnold man, 28, on suspicion of driving while influenced and took him to the Arnold police department. The man had a blood alcohol level of .123 percent. Police charged the man and held him until a sober driver could take him home.

May 16

Passenger Steals Car —A woman, who gave a ride to an unknown man, said the man stole her silver 2005 Chevrolet Impala with Missouri license plates after her went into the on 2001 Richardson Rd. to pay for fuel at 1:15 p.m. Police entered the stolen car into the crime database.

Stealing Clothes, Vehicle Wanted—Arnold police listed a blue Ford station wagon, with Missouri license plates, as wanted the crime database after a woman pushed a cart filled with about $340 in unpaid merchandise out of , 2201 Michigan Ave., at 3:45 p.m. The woman threw the merchandise into the wagon and fled.

$300 Stolen from Purse—A Convergys employee, at 1900 Meyer Drury Ln., reported $300 missing from her purse after she worked completed her work shift at the call center.

Driving While Influenced—During a 1:45 a.m. traffic stop on the off-ramp of southbound Interstate 55 at Richardson Road, Arnold police arrested a St. Peters man, 23 on suspicion of driving while influenced and took him to the Arnold Police Department at 2101 Jeffco Blvd. The man had a blood alcohol level of .126 percent. Police charged the man and released him to a sober driver.

May 15

Bicycle Stolen from Home— A Glatt Drive resident called the Arnold Police Department, at about 5 p.m., to report a boys Mongoose bike missing from the home.

Stealing from a Department Store— security, at 2150 Michigan Ave., stopped an Imperial woman, 35, after she took $146 in clothing without paying at 5:20 p.m. Arnold police learned the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department also had a warrant for the woman. Arnold police charged the woman with stealing and jailed her until she could post bond or Jefferson County law enforcement could take her to county jail.

Stealing from a Department Store II—Kohl’s store security also stopped a 17-year-old girl after she took about $80 in clothing at about 10:30 p.m. Arnold police issued a citation to the teenager then released her at the store to her mother.

Driving While Influenced—During traffic stop near the intersection of northbound Interstate 55 and Hwy. 141 at about 1:30 a.m., Arnold police took a St. Louis woman, 41, to the police station on the suspicion of driving while influenced. The woman had a blood alcohol level of .176 percent. Police charged the woman then released to a sober driver.

May 14

Stealing, Property Damage at —Golf course employees reported a sign and tee markers missing from the golf course after the weekend, police officers said. The employees also said the landscaping and a pump house vent are damaged.

Laptop Stolen from Unlocked Vehicle—A Rosedale Court resident reported a laptop computer and electronic equipment, for a $1,790 total value missing from his unlocked vehicle. The man said the items were taken between the dates of May 8 and May 14.

Vehicle Damage—A Briarwood Court woman reported, at 5 p.m., damage to her vehicle’s door handle and passenger side window.

Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia Possession—An Arnold police officer stopped an Arnold man, 18, walking near the intersection of Old Lemay Ferry Road and Maxville Lane at about 12:30 a.m., and learned he was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Police released the man on a court summons issued at the intersection.
