Arnold Man Charged for Holding Family Captive, Third-Degree Assault

Paul Cook is suspected of assaulting his wife and holding her and their three children against their will in an upstairs bedroom of their apartment.

An Arnold man has been charged by the Jefferson County Prosecutor's Office for assaulting his wife and holding her and her three small children captive in an upstairs bedroom of their apartment.

Arnold police responded to a domestic dispute call on Oct. 11 at the Jackson apartment complex after a woman called for help. According to the police report, no one would answer the door when officers arrived, and they were forced to take a rear-sliding door partially off the track to gain entry.

In the report, officers say they discovered Cook had assaulted his wife and was holding her and three children in an upstairs bedroom against their will in the hopes officers would leave.
