Arnold Man Gets 7 Years in Prison After Several DWIs

John Timmerman was sentenced to seven years in prison for driving while intoxicated after pleading guilty in July.

Arnold resident John F. Timmerman will be calling a new place home for the next seven years. 

The 50-year-old Arnold man was recently was sentenced to serve a guilty plea for driving while intoxicated in the Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Bonne Terre.

It was his fourth offense, according to court records.

On Jan. 18, 2012, Timmerman was found driving under the influence of alcohol on Vogel Road near Old Lemay Ferry Road. At the time, he was also driving with a revoked license, according to the report.

Jefferson County Div. 6 Circuit Judge Troy Cardona sentenced Timmerman on July 17 after his guilty plea to serve seven years for the DWI and four years for driving while revoked. The time is to be served concurrently.

He also has the opportunity to be released early if he successfully completes a 24-month treatment program.

Timmerman had three previous DWI convictions–one for a February 1995 in St. Louis County, one September 1996 in Jefferson County and one from August 2009 in Ste. Genevieve County, according to the report.
