Arnold Man Recounts Overcoming Molly Drug Addiction

Arnold resident Caleb Veal said he began using popular drug Molly when he was 16 years old. Now 22 years old, he told KSDK he has been clean for 9-months.

Molly is a code name for drug considered part of the ecstasy family. It is the pure powder or crystal form of MDMA, also found in the most common form of ecstasy.

Veal said Molly takes about 40 minutes to kick in. You start to see vibrant colors, and become really joyful, excited and happy.

The Missouri Poison Center has received more calls about Molly this year than in the last three years, according to the television media outlet.

For Veal, he hit rock bottom and decided to check himself in to St. Louis Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center. Two weeks into the program, he told KSDK he wanted to leave. Instead, he walked into the chapel and said he poured his heart out to God.
