Arnold Police Beat: Church Collection, Computers, Liquor Reported Stolen

The following information was provided by the Arnold Police Department for the two-week period ending Feb. 6.

Friday, Feb. 4  
Store security at Circle K, 2201 Richardson Road, reported that a man had stolen a bottle of Crown Royal valued at $27.

 Thursday, Feb. 3

  • An employee at Carol’s Hallmark Store, 3930 Vogel Road, reported that a woman and a man had purchased $117.83 in merchandise on Jan. 7 with a fraudulent check. 
  • A man was arrested for stealing under $500 from Walmart, 2201 Michigan Ave. Store security apprehended the man for concealing $227 in painting supplies and toys before he attempted to leave the store. 
  • An employee at , 1200 Big Bill Road, reported that a man had stolen a $17.99 bottle of alcohol and left the store in a white minivan.

Monday, Jan. 31

  • A woman reported that someone removed her wallet—containing her driver’s license and credit cards—and a checkbook from her purse, which was in the teacher’s lounge at Fox Elementary School, 739 Jeffco Blvd. The incident happened between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
  • A woman was arrested for stealing under $500 from , 2201 Michigan Ave., after being apprehended by store security.
  • Two women were arrested for stealing over $500 from , 2150 Michigan Ave. Store loss-prevention personnel apprehended the two for working in conjunction to take more than $1,500 in merchandise.

 Sunday, Jan 30

  • A resident, of the 1800 block of Redwood Drive, reported that someone had entered his unlocked shed and had stolen a Cummins Generator, valued at $300.

  • Employees at Walmart, 2201 Michigan Ave., reported that a man fled the store with a computer and camcorder, worth more than $898, and entered an awaiting maroon Pontiac driven by a woman.

Friday, Jan. 28

  • A man, of the 2300 block of Roland, reported that his silver 2004 Oldsmobile Alero was stolen around 6:30 a.m. from his driveway while it was left running. The vehicle was found wrecked with the windows broken on Jan. 29 on a trail in the Strawberry Creek Nature Area on Upper Tenbrook Road. 
  • A resident, of the 800 block of Londell Road, reported that someone had stolen his son’s Xbox and a Wii game between 4:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. The gaming equipment was valued at $450. 
  • Store security at Walmart, 2201 Michigan Ave., reported that a man had stolen a Toshiba Laptop Computer, valued at $698, on Jan. 25. 

Wednesday, Jan. 26 

  • A 17 year old was taken into custody in the Kohl’s Department Store parking lot after running from store security at Walmart, 2201 Michigan Ave., for stealing $100 in camera accessories.  An 18-year-old man, who was with the suspect, but did not participate in the theft, was found to be in possession of marijuana paraphernalia. He was issued a summons and released.  A third man, who was with the two, was arrested on pending warrants from Pevely. 
  • A man was arrested for stealing under $500 from , 505 Jeffco Blvd. The man had taken $70.80 in merchandise and left the store.

Tuesday, Jan. 25

  • A woman reported that someone had stolen her purse while she was at , 1932 Richardson Road.
  • A priest and other staff members from , 2300 Church Road, reported that someone had stolen the daily collection from Jan. 22 sometime after it was deposited in the drop safe in the office area of the sanctuary. The collection was believed to be more than $3,000.
  • Officers investigating property damage took a juvenile into custody for painting graffiti on the back of the buildings at and the former K-Mart in the Arnold Crossroads Center.
  • Officers responded to a peace disturbance at the , 504 Jeffco Blvd., in which an intoxicated, irate man assaulted the clerk. The suspect, who left before police arrived, spit on the clerk after he was refused alcohol.
  • An employee at Walmart, 2201 Michigan Ave., was arrested for stealing under $500 from a cash register. Store loss prevention personnel reported the crime.
