Arnold Police Department Crime Report for April 11-17

Numerous shoplifting attempts continue at Arnold's big-box retailers.

The Arnold Police Department provided the following information.

April 17

Recovered Vehicle — Officers recovered a Maryland Heights stolen vehicle after investigating a wreck at 2005 Richardson Road.

Stealing, Fleeing, Assault, Resisting arrest — Officers charged a Valparaso, IN man, 29, with shoplifting, trespassing, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and warrants from four police departments in Jefferson County. Officers responded to a call from , at 2201 Michigan Ave., about the suspect shoplifting, entering a vehicle’s passenger seat and fleeing the scene at about 8 p.m. Officers stopped the car at the intersection of Jeffco Blvd and Church Road. The suspect ran from the car but was caught after a short foot chase. The Pevely man, 18, driving the car was booked and released on a shoplifting charge.

Property Damage — a employee, at 1221 Telegraph Road, reported a broken window and hinge pins removed from the business’s front door. The actions occurred between 11:30 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Stealing — management, at 3937 Vogel Road, chased a Florissant woman, 31, from the store and called Arnold police. Officers found the suspect hiding in a grass field near the at 3610 W. Outer Road. No merchandise was found on the suspect but store management had video of her stealing about $93 in hygiene products on April 12. Officers also learned the suspect is wanted by agencies in St. Louis County, Des Peres and Florissant. Arnold police booked and jailed the suspect for another law enforcement agency.

April 15

Underage Drinking — Four 18-year-olds — two Festus residents and two Pevely residents — face charges of underage consumption of alcohol at the parking lot at 1253 Water Tower Place. An employee at a drive-thru restaurant called police about the teens. Police released the teens at the scene after issuing court summonses.

April 13

Assault — At the intersection of Richardson Road and Patricia Lane, Arnold detectives arrested Cody Harris, 21, of Arnold on assault charges. A Jefferson County judge issued warrants on Harris for resisting arrest and creating the risk of physical injury to the people around him. Harris was held on a $50,000 bond.

DWI — Officers charged an Arnold man, 22, with driving while intoxicated during an investigation of a car wreck at the intersection of Cheryl Acres and Patricia Lane at about 11:30 p.m. The suspect had a blood alcohol level of 0.133. The suspect was booked, processed, then released to a sober driver.

Ordinance Violation — Officers issued a summons to a trash truck driver, 49 and from Festus, collecting trash at about 3 a.m., a prohibited time, at 3872 Vogel Road.

April 12

Shoplifting — Walmart store security, at 2201 Michigan Ave., detained an Imperial woman, 37, for shoplifting. Arnold police released the woman after giving her a court summons at the scene.

Theft — store security, at 3849 Vogel Road, asked Arnold police to stop a Fenton man, 26, after reporting a theft. Officers recovered the property and issued a court summons to the man.

Stealing — store security, at 2150 Michigan Ave., called Arnold police after a St. Louis man, 28, and an Imperial woman, 28, after they allegedly stole merchandise and fled in a vehicle. Police stopped the couple at , 1770 Missouri State Rd., booked them, then released them on court summonses.

April 11

Assault — Arnold police charged an Arnold woman, 25, of Rosedale Drive with assaulting her husband. Police booked and jailed the woman, then released her on a court summons.

DWI — A St. Louis man, 27, faces charges of driving while intoxicated after police stopped him near the intersection of Jeffco Boulevard and Hwy. 141 around midnight. The suspect had a blood alcohol level of 0.109, booked and released to a sober driver.
